Chinese Embroidery

Chinese traditional embroidery is one of the oldest forms of folk art in China, with a history that dates back over two thousand years to the Warring States period.

Using the needle as a brush and thread as ink, it brings to life nature, figures, birds, flowers, and landscapes on silk fabric—an exquisite craft that combines both practicality and artistry.

Embroidery emphasizes the philosophy of “the heart moves with the needle, the intention lies within the stitches,” requiring harmony in composition, color coordination, technique, and emotional expression.

The Four Great Embroideries—Su (Suzhou), Xiang (Hunan), Yue (Guangdong), and Shu (Sichuan)—each have their own unique charm, showcasing the delicate aesthetics and craftsmanship spirit of Chinese culture.
